Squamish Public Art

The Squamish Public Art website is a comprehensive database of existing public artworks located in Sḵwx̱wú7mesh and a resource for public art related initiatives.

This website was built using the WordPress CMS / Elementor Pagebuilder with Google Maps and search and filter functionality. You can use the website to search artist profiles, type of artwork, location and year, select a curated tour of local art or create your own. It also is a home for both community and artist resources for connecting artists to community organizations or businesses who request to have public art on their property.

Squamish Public Art was branded by the talented typographer and artist Alex Fowkes in 2024, the content and photography was provided by Squamish Arts and the Downtown Squamish BIA, in addition to working together to create the sitemap and page structure.

Client Testimonial

Lindsay is the full package when it comes to web design. She is an amazing problem solver, talented visual designer, effective communicator, organized, and extremely reliable. Whenever we’ve come to Lindsay with a new project in mind she’s been able to bring it to fruition and make it look beautiful! She’s always gone above and beyond when working with us, even training staff to ensure that our websites are maintained in the long run. We couldn’t recommend her enough.

— Aisha Daryanani - Programs & Communications Manager

The artist profiles and artwork post types are linked using the ACF relationship field, which allows the user to assign multiple artwork to an artist. The backend of the website is organized to allow for easy population and editing of artwork using custom post types, taxonomies and custom fields. Admin Columns Pro was used for easy of navigating the backend to locate and edit existing artwork.

Three responsive forms with conditional logic, custom terms & condition popups, Google Sheets integration and confirmation / email notifications were created. All form submissions emails were setup to send via SMTP via the Gmail server using the Gmail API.

Training was provided to a Squamish Arts representative so that the site can be maintained for years to come.
